Lia Hide
Lia Hide is an avant dark pop artist. With 5 studio albums and dozens of collaborative ones in her recent past, she debuted as an EMI artist but moved to work with indie labels onwards, enjoying a prolific recording list of releases. Her music is fusing jazz with avant-garde, cinematic with dark wave, glitch with baroque pop, weaved with strong words and versatile vocals, powerful pianos, screaming guitars & a rigid rythm section.
She's multi-awarded at numerous International Video and Short Film Festivals and Competitions for the video-clips from the Missing Fourth Guest album – her 4th album, a concept album themed and influenced by Plato's 'Timeaus'. She's performed in Europe, 5 multi dated tours in 18 countries since 2019, was the Greek finalist for the 2023 HEMI Awards, and a Culture Moves Europe beneficiary for 2024. Her music composition for the Dance Drama GENOKTONIA by Pavlos Kourtidis was the official selection and was performed at the Aeschylean Festival, 2022.
She's performed at major and minor festivals (Dark Malta (MT), Station Street Festival (BG), Forest Jam Festival (FR), Nisville Jazz Festival (SE), Wfest (BE), KraKra International Jazz Festival (BG), Athens International Jazz Festival (GR), Fekete Zaj (HU), Varusha South 48 Hours (BG) and more, and alongside famous artists (Tricky, Die Krups, Kadebostany, Kovacs, Front242, March Violets, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Blak Uhuru, Karen Souza, Ida Nielsen and more). Representing Greece she performed at Berklee University and the Ancient Nemea Games Revival and at SoAlive (BG), MMB (RO), PIN Music Conference (MK), Athens Music Week (GR), Melodrama (PL) and Future Echoes (SE) conferences and showcases.
She's teaching songwriting, musical and popular music vocals while composing music for Theater & Dance dramas, having a strong academic background (holds an MMus, LGSMD, ABA & AsB).
She is an sE Electronics endorsed artist and a mentor at Women in Music
